Corporate Carer Sponsorship

We recently met at the House of Love and Hope (HOLAH) with Danny, Director and Head of Finance at Just Flour Mills, to discuss an exciting and mutually beneficial BEE points scoring arrangement.
Through this partnership, Just Flour has chosen to absorb the salary of one of HOLAH’s carers under their payroll, a model that has been thoroughly stress-tested and legitimised within current BEE legislation.
Just Flour has been meticulous in ensuring that this arrangement complies fully with BEE requirements and that they rightfully qualify for these valuable points. In this instance, Gugu, a female, disabled, black employee, enables the company to achieve maximum BEE scorecard benefit. However, able-bodied employees from both HOLAH and the Charity Hop Shop also qualify under this model, offering a flexible and rewarding opportunity for corporate partners.
The process is simple and seamless, a fixed-term contract is created, specifying the employee’s work location as either HOLAH or the Hop Shop.
From HOLAH’s side, this initiative provides incredible financial relief and job security for our caregivers, a vital support since salaries remain a fixed cost, regardless of fluctuating donation levels.
This partnership model offers a true win–win: companies can meaningfully improve their BEE score, while directly supporting the ongoing care of children at HOLAH.
